Marine Cargo

Marine Cargo Insurance can be defined as the movement of goods or services by land sea or air. Any commercial activity that requires its goods moved will require cargo/transit insurance. Transit has been legally defined as “The passage of Goods from one place to another”.

There are many terms of sale used throughout the world between buyers and sellers involved in import and export of goods. These are commonly known as The Institute Cargo Clauses. It is therefore important that the owner of the goods is aware of such clauses in order that the appropriate cover can be arranged, over and above that which may be in place with the shipper of the goods.
